Laura has seventeen years of experience as a lawyer in the public and private sector, with expertise in corporate governance, administrative law, and regulatory compliance. She is valued for her ability to translate legal and policy implications for clients, providing succinct advice within a strategic context.
Highly effective at generating consensus among diverse stakeholder groups, Laura has worked collaboratively on legislative reform, Government procurement and contracting, commercial disputes, and risk management.
As a former Air Force Legal Officer, Laura has unique experience in the legal and policy frameworks for emerging technologies and autonomous systems. She has provided specialist international law advice for military operations and capability development. Her work in the national security sector includes international humanitarian law, intelligence law, international agreements and arrangements, and counter-terrorism frameworks.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours in Law, as well a Master of Laws and Master of Military and Strategic Studies from the Australian National University. She is a graduate of the Australian War College.
